As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical engineering and functional controls system architecture and specifications. Job Details
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team.
As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex electrical engineering and functional controls system architecture and specifications. You will be required to work on-site in Mediapolis, IA and have a strong understanding of electrical systems including motors, AC drives, and control circuits.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex electrical engineering and functional controls system architecture and specifications with input from sales personnel, customers, service technicians, and assembly technicians
- Apply ingenuity in programming, hardware/software integration, and system diagnostics to support machine-based control systems
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials for control systems
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine-based control systems
- Provide technical support to customers and service technicians
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor&s;s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3
years of experience in controls engineering in a manufacturing environment - Strong understanding of electrical systems including motors, AC drives, and control circuits
- Experience with PLC programming and HMI development
- Proficient in electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and project installations
